Earthship K.K. (Tokyo, Japan) was established in Tokyo, Japan, in April of 2001 for the development, production, and marketing / sales of a refrigeration system based on air-cycle technology. The company is committed to clean environment. As early as 1992, Earthship's predecessor, Kajima, produced eleven prototype units and installed them at customer sites. In 2001, Kajima and Earthship came to an agreement for the transfer of all intellectual properties and resources related to AIRS to Earthship. Since then, Earthship has produced an industrial/commercial 5 ton model that uses the technology. The first prototype unit was installed at a customer site in August of 2002; and ongoing R&D will continue improve the application range, efficiency, and cost of the system. Earthship USA, Inc.
